Job summary

Glassboard is a hardware product development firm building across consumer, healthcare, industrial, and mobility sectors in Indianapolis.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will own technical direction, manage a team of engineers, and drive programs from concept to commercialization, reporting to the COO. You will shape engineering practices while coordinating with the broader product development team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in EE/CE/EET/CET preferred or equivalent experience.
Minimum 8 years of engineering or product development experience, including leading engineers or programs.
Schematic capture and layout experience: multi-layer (4+).
Familiarity with USB, CAN, UART, SPI, I2C and other hardware interfaces.
Strong/proven ability to mentor a team across concurrent projects.
Excellent program management: scoping, scheduling, client communications.

Responsibilities

Design analog and digital circuits; own schematics and PCB layouts.
Oversee libraries, schematic capture, and PCB layout standards.
Translate customer requirements into technical specifications; guide engineers accordingly.
Oversee prototype bring-up, debugging, and verification.
Lead client communications, scoping, timelines, and program financials.
Mentor and develop the electrical engineering team; allocate workload.
Partner with leadership on hiring and performance reviews.
Contribute to proposals and scoping for new electrical work.
Help define and improve internal EE processes and tools.
