Job summary

Wayve is hiring a Staff Embedded Security Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA. You’ll work with embedded software engineers to design, implement, and test onboard security for our self-driving platforms, focusing on data gathering, model training, and demonstration of secure capabilities.

Key responsibilities include real-time firmware development, security reviews, and collaboration across teams to ensure robust security architectures and tools within Wayve’s codebases.

Qualifications

• Proven record of designing and delivering software security systems for internet-connected embedded devices.
• Experience incorporating hardware-based security techniques (Hardware Security modules, TrustZone, Secure Boot) into robust system design.
• Solid knowledge of Cryptography fundamentals and Public Key Infrastructure.
• Extensive ability to craft clear technical specifications from architecture to test plans.
• System-level (kernel/bootloader) software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, C, or Go.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop real-time embedded firmware and embedded Linux software to implement security controls.
• Contribute to requirements, architecture, and interface design documents.
• Collaborate with Wayve Security team to address fleet security issues.
• Partner with developers to promote secure software architectures.
• Build, deploy, and maintain security tooling and instrumentation in codebases.
• Perform code and design reviews to remediate security flaws.
