Qualifications

• Illinois medical license or pending.
• DEA/Controlled Substance License.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible

Responsibilities

• Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating clinical patients to meet medical needs.
• Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection; provides materials and resources to patients and families.
• Shares health care duties with other physicians to ensure physician availability at all times.
• Determines referrals based on examination and patient needs.
• Assesss level of urgency for follow-up, referrals, or consultations.
• Exercises final medical judgment in all health care issues.
• Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.
• Orders studies, tests and ancillary services.
• Documents all services in patient medical records.
• Reviews long-term cases requiring ongoing medical attention.
• Consults with Medical Director and other staff regarding patient care and education issues.
• Participates in quality improvement and continuing education programs.
• Oversees mid-level medical staff and nursing staff as assigned.
• Assists in resolving patient complaints.
