Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Rockford seeks an EE Lab Master Technician Lead to supervise a team of hourly technicians and to support the repair, calibration, and maintenance of complex equipment in production and development labs.

You will troubleshoot electronics, read schematics, install and calibrate systems, and train operators to ensure safety and quality compliance across projects. This role demands leadership and strong technical collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years experience or 3 years with advanced degree.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment.
• Experience measuring, analyzing, and calibrating instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a team of hourly technicians to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic equipment including PCBs, motors and drives.
• Install equipment and set up machines; ensure proper operation through inspections.
• Measure, analyze, and calibrate instrumentation for setup and checkout.
• Develop and troubleshoot electrical systems with engineering and operators.
• Read, interpret, and create equipment wiring schematics.
• Provide training to operators and technicians on equipment use.
• Create and update procedures and work instructions for operation and maintenance.
• Review and estimate design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials.
