The San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Lead Electronic Equipment Technician (Communications). This promotional /open opportunity is open to all interested candidates.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Lead Electronic Equipment Technician (Communications) will lead and participate in the work of journey-level, skilled, and semi-skilled crafts workers in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of electronic and telephone systems.

VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS
  • This position falls under the Integrated Technology Division and working locations will vary throughout the district.
  • Work Schedule: 12 months per year / 40 hours per week.
  • Salary: This position is paid on the OSS Salary Schedule. Grade 052.
  • Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
  • Vacancies that require the incumbent to be Bilingual will be noted. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to three years of recent, full-time, paid, journey-level telephone equipment repair experience.

Licenses and Other Requirements:

Possession of hand tools common to the trade. Manufacturer’s certification is desirable. Personality and character suitable for working in schools.
