Lead Electro-Mechanical MAINTENANCE Engineer/Supervisor - DAY LIGHT (salaried/exempt)

Reports To: VP Operations Excellence

Reports: 8 Direct Reports from 3 shifts

Hours: primarily 6:30AM-4:30PM

  • Support and sustain all EHS initiatives for the company
  • Lead, Mentor, Develop direct reports for a successful succession plan
  • Continuous improvement for self, team, processes, standard work, and facility
  • Constant communication to ensure successful partnerships with all teams

The Lead Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for leading and managing the effective day-to-day activities involving maintenance crews across 3 shifts while ensuring daily excellence so that results are achieved in safety, quality, downtime, cost, and efficiency. This person will be responsible for coordinating activities with other supervisors to ensure consistency across shifts and plants and lead continuous assessment, feedback, and development of employees toward higher levels of individual and group performance. Additional responsibilities include training and developing lead, technicians, conducting regular meetings to discuss business information, plant performance vs. goals, issues, and concerns with crews, and ensuring that the execution of work is consistent with the plant's goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key plant leader in safety culture and EH&S compliance, improvement initiatives.
  • Manage around 8 maintenance leads, technicians, and support team members across 3 shifts.
  • Provide training and technical support in repair and troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
  • Provide training, technical support in repair and troubleshooting electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Develop, train, audit, and assist as needed with preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and TPM program, execution.
  • Factory environment, possibly including heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
  • Manage the planning, scheduling, tool, supplies, and MRO parts inventory in storeroom using TabWare, Greatplains software or equivalent.
  • Manage the maintenance of ground and housekeeping in the facility's internal ground and housekeeper resources.
  • Lead department productivity improvement, MRO, and energy cost reduction while improving downtime and equipment life.
  • Support Production in RCFA of safety and quality issues.
  • Participate in Lean Kaizen event as part of the plants continuous improvement effort.
  • Support plant budget development and manage maintenance budget.
  • Support capital engineering projects (i.e., equipment, facilities/infrastructure, etc.) due diligence and implementation.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working within OSHA safety guidelines and EHS best practices
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and respectfully across organization
  • Strong electrical, PLC/CNC troubleshooting capabilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with project development and machine moving, rigging and/or installation
  • Advanced computer skills; working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish is a plus

Education and/or Experience:

  • 7+ years ideal of Industrial Maintenance experience
  • 7+ years ideal of Supervision/leadership experience
  • 7+ years ideal of Electrical Troubleshooting (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • 7+ years ideal of Mechanical Troubleshooting (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance preferred

Required Citizenship / Work Permit / Visa Status

Must-Haves

  • Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
  • 7+ years ideal of Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • 7+ years ideal of Supervision/leadership experience.
  • 7+ years ideal of Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Some Spanish skills.
  • Wood working or Mill Working experience - NOT other industries.
  • CNC machining skills.
  • Relocation available.
  • Should have electro-mechanical skills; some work with EHS (environmental health and safety).

Nice to Haves

  • Understanding Spanish is a big plus (many Spanish-speaking people work at the plant).
  • Experience with project development and machine moving, rigging, and/or installation.
  • Advanced computer skills; working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
