Job summary

The University of Texas at El Paso is seeking a Supervising Electrician to lead Electrician and Maintenance Electrician teams, overseeing construction, maintenance and repair of electrical power, lighting, and building control systems across university facilities. Requires Associate’s degree or equivalent and seven years of licensed journeyman electrician experience; Master Electrician license preferred.

This is an on-site El Paso, TX position with standard hours and some evenings/weekends,

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience as a licensed journeyman electrician.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of NEC, state and local electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of Electrician and Maintenance Electrician in construction, maintenance and repair of electrical systems.
• Prepares and assigns work schedules, on-call rotations, and work assignments for the electric shop team.
• Ensures proper performance of electrical power, lighting, motors and building control systems.
