Job summary

State of Nevada seeks an Electrician 2 for the Lovelock Correctional Center to perform routine electrical repairs, including high/low voltage work, lighting, and control systems. The role may lead an inmate crew and requires accountability for tools and equipment, with security procedures in place.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, preparing repair estimates, and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules; experience in a correctional setting is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program followed by journey level experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
• Knowledge of code requirements and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond to repair orders; diagnose problems using appropriate tools and test equipment.
• Implement a preventive maintenance schedule and perform routine inspections.
• Install or repair wiring, panels, circuit breakers, lighting and receptacles per code.
• Provide training and work direction to maintenance staff or inmate crew.
