Job summary

Seattle City Light is seeking an Electrician Constructor Working Crew Chief for the Skagit Hydroelectric Project. You will oversee a team of Electrician Constructors and apprentices, plan workloads, manage materials and equipment, and ensure safety and compliance in transmission, distribution, and generation facilities.

The role requires leadership, hydroelectric experience, and the ability to coordinate complex field operations, including high voltage work and safety training.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience as Electrician-Constructor or equivalent journey-level position working in installation, maintenance and repair of electrical wiring, apparatus and equipment used in generation and distribution of electrical power.
• One year of experience working with 2200 volt or higher electrical equipment.
• Current Washington State driver's license.
• Strong ability to lead and manage employees in an objective and productive manner.
• Five years of experience in Hydroelectric Generation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises and evaluates the work of journey-level workers, apprentices, helpers and laborers.
• Requisitions the materials, tools and equipment required for each job.
• Compiles and prepares reports related to work activities, employee status and materials inventories.
• Reviews upcoming work and develops detailed workplans and labor estimates based on blueprints, engineering requests, and project documentation.
• Coordinates and monitors safety and training programs.
• Plans and supervises the removal of hazardous/toxic materials.
• Provides technical assistance to subordinate staff, contractors and employees of other jurisdictions.
• Provide guidance, training and performance measurement for Generation Electrician Constructor Apprentices (GECA).
• Perform Electrician-Constructor duties as necessary and may take and hold high-voltage clearances.
