Why Join Our Team

Infinity Technical Services Division is a NETA Accredited Company providing electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, modernization, and engineering-support services for industrial, commercial, healthcare, manufacturing, utility, and data-center customers.

Our goal is to redefine what customers expect from an electrical services company by setting the benchmark for trust, technical expertise, responsiveness, and customer care.

Infinity Technical Services Division, Inc., a NETA Accredited Company, is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Testing Technician to support our growing Raleigh-area operation.

Position Summary

This position is a hands-on field leadership position focused on NETA acceptance testing, maintenance testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage electrical power-distribution equipment. The successful candidate will have the technical experience to lead complex testing projects today, along with the organization, judgment, and leadership capacity to help develop technicians, strengthen customer relationships, and eventually manage Infinity TSD’s Raleigh operation.

The position requires approximately 50% travel, primarily throughout Central and Eastern North Carolina and Virginia.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform NETA acceptance-testing and maintenance-testing projects.
  • Test, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage electrical power-distribution equipment.
  • Support switchgear, UL 891 switchboards, MCCs, transformers, panelboards, circuit breakers, protective relays, cables, and associated control systems.
  • Perform and oversee electrical testing in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer instructions, customer requirements, and applicable NETA standards.
  • Review project scope, drawings, specifications, test plans, equipment information, and safety requirements before work begins.
  • Organize daily field activities, assign technician responsibilities, and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Operate and oversee the use of various electrical testing equipment.
  • Evaluate test results, identify abnormal conditions and deficiencies, and communicate findings clearly to customers and project stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, control-power, protective-device, and equipment-operation issues.
  • Produce complete, accurate, and professional test documentation and field-service reports.
  • Review technician test data and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and technical quality.
  • Coordinate field activities with customers, contractors, project managers, engineers, and other technicians.
  • Mentor developing technicians and reinforce Infinity TSD’s expectations for safety, technical quality, responsiveness, and customer care.
  • Support commissioning and OEM startup activities when required.
  • Help establish the processes, customer relationships, and field team needed to support a permanent Raleigh-area operation.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of direct, hands-on experience with electrical testing, maintenance, commissioning, or troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with low- and medium-voltage electrical power-distribution systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, panelboards, circuit breakers, protective devices, cables, and associated control systems.
  • Experience performing or leading electrical acceptance-testing and maintenance-testing projects.
  • Ability to safely and correctly operate electrical test equipment and evaluate the resulting data.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, test specifications, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead field assignments while remaining actively involved in the technical work.
  • Ability to organize personnel, equipment, test documentation, and project priorities.
  • Sound safety judgment and the ability to work effectively around energized and de-energized electrical equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% throughout Central and Eastern North Carolina and Virginia.
  • Ability to accommodate overnight travel and project schedules that may include extended hours, nights, or weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NETA certification.
  • Experience working for a NETA Accredited Company.
  • Strong familiarity with current NETA acceptance-testing and maintenance-testing standards.
  • Previous experience as a lead technician, field supervisor, project manager, service manager, or similar leadership position.
  • Experience testing circuit breakers, protective relays, transformers, cables, switchgear, and related electrical equipment.
  • Medium-voltage cable termination and splicing experience.
  • Experience with PowerDB or similar electronic test-reporting software.
  • Experience supporting electrical equipment manufacturers or OEM startup programs.
  • Other relevant electrical testing or manufacturer certifications.
Travel and Territory

This position will be based in the Raleigh area and will primarily support projects throughout Central and Eastern North Carolina and Virginia. There will be occasional travel outside of the area to support larger customer outages with other Infinity TSD offices on short-duration projects. Travel is expected to average approximately 50%, depending on customer demand and project schedules. Assignments may include overnight stays and occasional extended schedules associated with outages, acceptance-testing projects, maintenance work, commissioning, or emergency service.

Leadership Opportunity

This position is intended for an experienced technician who wants more than a traditional field role. During the initial growth of the Raleigh operation, the successful candidate must be willing to work regularly in the field, lead projects, travel throughout the assigned territory, and serve customers directly. As the operation expands, this individual may have the opportunity to assume increasing responsibility for:

  • Local field personnel and technician development
  • Project planning and resource coordination
  • Scheduling and workload management
  • Test-data and report-quality oversight
  • Safety and technical-performance oversight
  • Customer relationships
  • Operational performance and regional growth

Advancement will be based on demonstrated leadership, technical performance, organizational ability, and the continued development of Raleigh operation.
