Job summary

Vertiv Corp. is seeking a lead electrical test engineer to troubleshoot, test, and inspect electrical apparatus, often taking a lead role on projects. The role requires coordinating with clients, preparing detailed reports, and potentially traveling for weeks at a time to support field work.

Candidates should have strong NEC/OSHA/NFPA knowledge, hands-on experience with switchgear testing up to 15 kV, and the ability to manage project scope and billing. Travel 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be able to supervise projects with technical expertise and good business management skills.
• Knowledge of NEC and OSHA/NFPA standards.
• Experience with switchgear testing through 15 kV.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Willing to travel internationally up to several weeks.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.
• Troubleshooting capabilities and relay calibration; use of load recording instrumentation.
• Test and troubleshoot moderately complex electrical systems and power metering.
• May perform simple power system studies including short circuit and protective device coordination.
• Write complete reports promptly and process project billing.
• Participate in equipment labeling projects compliant with standards and company procedures.
• Take active role in business development and client proposals including scope and pricing.
