Job summary

IonQ in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer-Testing to lead hardware test activities for Vector Atomics and collaborate with physicists, electrical, mechanical, and optical engineers.

This role requires defining procedures, executing tests in the lab, and driving verification improvements while ensuring accurate data capture and documentation. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• BSEE or MSEE with leadership experience testing precision instruments and/or sensors.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment and communicate effectively.
• Create test plans and procedures for novel instrumentation.
• Organize and manage test results with data storage and documentation.
• Develop testing protocols, specify equipment, write automation scripts, and document procedures.
• Proficient in post-test data analysis to extract performance metrics.
• Experience designing test loads, cabling, and custom equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and data sheets to define measurement ranges.

Responsibilities
