Job summary

The City of Amarillo is seeking an Electrician II to lead an electrical maintenance crew at the River Road Wastewater plant. This role performs and directs electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring continuous operation of critical water and wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities include managing 480v and 2300v switchgear, motor control systems, project coordination with contractors, and maintaining safety through lockout/tagout practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Seven years' experience in electrical trade or industrial maintenance.
• Texas Journeyman license required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technician for an electrical maintenance crew.
• Maintains and repairs 480v & 2300v switchgear and motor control systems.
• Plans installations and coordinates projects with contractors.
• Oversees inventory of parts, supplies and tools.
• Maintains safety with lockout/tagout procedures.
