Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Newton, MA seeks a Principal Electrical Systems Architect, Medical Devices, to lead the electrical system architecture across all product development stages, from concept to post-market support.

The role requires deep expertise in power architecture, grounding, isolation, EMC, leakage current, and safety compliance, plus experience with FDA/IDE/MDR submissions. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• 15+ years developing Class II/III medical devices.
• Experience leading systems through IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2 (EMC), SPE-3000, and TUV/NRTL certification.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical system architecture across all phases of product development.
• Drive technical decision-making and architectural trade studies.
• Mentor electrical engineering teams and coordinate cross-functional efforts.
• Collaborate with suppliers and external partners and manage program deliverables.
• Support regulatory submissions and ensure compliance with QMS and standards.
