Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Lead Technician to oversee maintenance across the paper manufacturing facility. You will lead the electrical and instrumentation teams, troubleshoot complex systems, and ensure reliable operation of controls, motors, and drives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably paper, pulp, converting, or other heavy industrial operations.
• Knowledge of PLC systems (Allen-Bradley preferred), VFDs, motors, instrumentation, and process controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Previous project planning and managing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities during assigned shifts.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, drives, instrumentation, and process control equipment.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Support paper machine, converting equipment, utilities, and plant infrastructure.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and electrical safety standards.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Train and mentor maintenance technicians on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Work closely with operations personnel to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in the maintenance management system.
• Participate in troubleshooting during emergencies and production outages.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives throughout the facility.
