Job summary

R.D. Graham Electric is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects in the Carolinas.

The role analyzes drawings and specifications to determine labor, materials, and time requirements to keep bids profitable. The position offers a salary of $90k-$110k per year, depending on experience, with benefits including PTO, holidays, 401(k) matching, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating.
• Knowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed cost estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs for electrical systems (power, lighting, low voltage, etc.).
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare and submit complete bid packages within deadlines.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams.
• Maintain accurate cost databases and historical records.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Assist with project handoff to operations after award.
• Manage and oversee estimating team members.
