Job summary

R.D. Graham Electrical is seeking a full-time electrical foreman in Columbia, SC. The role oversees field crews, ensures safe, efficient installation of electrical systems, and coordinates with project managers to meet schedules and budgets.

Ideal candidates will have experience in commercial electrical installations, the ability to interpret drawings, and strong leadership to maintain a safe, productive worksite. Weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Commercial electrical installation experience.
• Experience coordinating multiple tasks and supervising assigned personnel.
• Trade inspections experience and interacting with inspectors is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate staffing levels are requested for daily tasks.
• Deploy personnel to optimize workflow and meet project needs.
• Request and manage special equipment as required for installations.
• Interpret job drawings to facilitate electrical system installs.
• Create material lists and ensure adequate materials are on site.
• Set weekly benchmarks and drive progress toward completion of jobs.
• Maintain project schedules and communicate progress to PM and field supervisor.
• Promote safety initiatives and maintain a safe work environment for all staff.
• Communicate job progress and needs to the PM and oversee inspections as scheduled.

Reports To:

The Electrical Foreman will report to the Superintendent

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure appropriate staffing levels are requested for the daily required tasks to be completed
• Deploy personnel as necessary and in the best interest of the existing workflow daily
• Ensure special equipment needs are requested
• Interpret job drawings to facilitate install of electrical system
• Establish material list and ensure adequate material is ordered and onsite to accommodate daily workflow
• Establish weekly benchmark objectives towards completion of job
• Ensure project benchmarks are achieved and job schedule is maintained
• May attend project meetings and communicate information to PM and field supervisor
• Maintain familiarity with the plans, schedule and expectations for job
• Aid and oversight of safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel
• This position will be expected to promote an emphasis on creating a team oriented, positive work environment which promotes a culture of safety and open communication
• Communicate job progress and job needs to PM
• Maintain oversight of job status and communicate anticipated problems
• Ensure inspections status; scheduled and completed

Qualifications

• An applicant for the Electrical Foreman position should have experience completing project installation of electrical systems in the commercial electrical industry.
• Experience working in the field coordinating multiple tasks and functions, while providing supervision of assigned personnel is common practice.
• Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors are all areas which will benefit from experience.
• Associated trade certifications are beneficial but are not required for this position.

This applicant should be able to sit, bend, stoop and lift items not to exceed 50 pounds. This position should also be able to climb, crawl and squat as the job demands.
