Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in California is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design for water and wastewater facilities.

You will serve as the technical authority across planning, design, and delivery, mentoring staff and guiding clients. The role requires deep expertise in medium- and low-voltage systems, plus experience with DB/Progressive DB delivery, power studies, and utility coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE license; California licensure preferred or comity eligible.
• 20+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
• Experience leading electrical design for water and wastewater facilities.
• Strong MV/LV power systems expertise.
• Experience with utility coordination, service upgrades, interconnections.
• Experience with power system studies using SKM ETAP or equivalent software.
• Delivery experience on Design-Build / Progressive Design-Build / CMAR.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage clients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for complex water and wastewater facilities.
• Serve as electrical discipline lead and technical authority on major projects.
• Lead design efforts for DB/Progressive DB projects from pursuit through commissioning.
• Participate in design validation, value engineering, constructability reviews, risk assessments.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations, studies, specs, drawings, and reports.
• Lead power system analyses including short-circuit, protective coordination, arc flash.
• Ensure compliance with codes, utilities, and industry standards.
• Provide technical leadership during construction, startup, testing, and commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; develop client relationships and pursue opportunities.
