Job summary

The City of Seattle seeks a Supervisor Electrical Engineer to lead a professional design team within the SPU Project Delivery and Engineering Branch. You will supervise four staff members and act as a project engineer on highly visible utility projects, covering cathodic protection, ETAP, SCADA interfaces, and commissioning.

Ideal candidates will have a PE license in Washington, six years of electrical engineering experience (two in supervision), and a strong background in utility environments.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Washington is required.
• Current Washington State driver’s license or equivalent mobility is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff to success and deliver high-quality engineering deliverables.
• Oversee and directly participate in technically complex projects (Cathodic Protection, Pump Stations, ETAP, SCADA).
• Manage design and planning activities, schedules, budgets, and construction plans.
• Monitor consultants and contractors to ensure contract compliance and timelines.
• Prepare and review official documents, reports, and project variance reports.
