Job summary

Seattle City Light is seeking two Electrical Power System Engineers to join the North Distribution Systems Engineering Unit. You will design overhead and underground distribution systems, lead large service projects, and contribute to capital projects such as UW and Sound Transit.

You will mentor junior staff and review engineering work for quality and compliance. Required: six years of experience in electrical power systems and a BS in Electrical Engineering, plus WA PE licensure within 12

Qualifications

Requires six years of progressively responsible electrical power systems engineering experience.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Performing the planning and design of overhead and underground electrical systems and large services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
Managing projects and ensuring designs follow guidelines and sound engineering principles.
Preparing cost estimates, drawings, and material requirements according to design guidelines.
Providing technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and review of colleagues' work.
Performing Plan Review of SDOT and private Street Use contracts.
Providing electrical design support to City Light units and external agencies.
