Job summary

Gulf Interstate Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Houston, TX office. The role leads electrical engineering on smaller projects, guiding discipline technical and scheduling matters with minimal supervision.

You will prepare and review specifications, requisitions, and bid evaluations, coordinate with clients, and contribute to design drawings and standards documentation. Strong communication and oil & gas experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Typically 5–10 years of proven engineering experience in Oil and Gas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of electrical design standards and codes.
• Familiar with electrical distribution design and system studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineer on smaller projects and oversee discipline technical matters.
• Prepare/review discipline project specifications and requisitions.
• Develop/review one-line diagrams, area classifications, and layouts.
• Coordinate with client personnel and review vendor documents.
• Support factory acceptance testing and engineering calculations.
