Job summary

Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST) in Orlando, FL, part of Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS), is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Mechanical Design Engineer to lead electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical design for laser range finders and designators.

The role involves concept layouts to final drawings, collaboration across disciplines, and support for production and testing in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 6+ years of experience.
• Graduate degree with relevant experience is acceptable.
• Extensive experience with EO, opto-mechanical, or laser-focused defense tooling.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design of high-reliability military subsystems using SolidWorks 2026.
• Develop and review engineering documentation including specs, drawings, and test plans.
• Conduct basic stress, tolerance, and thermal analyses; support prototyping and testing.
