Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST) in Orlando seeks a Lead, Mechanical Design Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary teams developing laser range finders and laser designators for defense applications. The role requires delivering complex designs and guiding engineers to manufacturable solutions for airborne, maritime, and ground vehicle systems.

You will own major design initiatives, collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders, and provide technical direction while ensuring

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field is required.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience for leadership roles.
• Experience in EO/opto-mechanical design and laser-focused defense projects.
• Strong CAD/engineering analysis capabilities and SolidWorks proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Design specialized systems and components using SolidWorks with 3D models and Bills of Materials (PDM).
• Analyze feasibility from customer proposals and manuals to determine design applicability.
• Guide engineers on mechanical and electromechanical products and systems.
• Design and test instruments, controls, and thermal/hydraulic systems.
• Serve as GD&T SME for the organization.
