Job summary

APQS seeks a hands-on Lead Electrical Engineer to drive hardware from concept to mass production. You will own electrical subsystem design, convert requirements into schematics, and lead PCB layout for DFMA and prototypes.

You will collaborate with mechanical engineers and stakeholders to define requirements, verify functionality, and manage risk across the lifecycle. A strong background in mixed analog/digital circuits and motion control is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing and producing mixed analog and digital circuits.
• Strong fundamentals in motion control systems, sensors, and user-facing hardware.
• Proficiency in PCB design software (Altium, Autodesk Fusion, ExpressPCB).
• Proven track record shipping mixed-signal PCBs to production.
• Ability to act as sole electrical engineer with full lifecycle accountability.
• Hands-on experience with motion control or power-dense electromechanical systems.
• Understanding of trade-offs across performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
• Strong test bench skills and failure analysis.
• Crisp technical writing and communication.
• Owns the work and thrives in small, fast teams.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, USB, MIPI preferred.
• Automation scripting (Python, C++, etc.) preferred.
• Basic understanding of mechanical design fundamentals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical subsystem design from concept to production.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, scope and success criteria.
• Convert requirements into schematics and lead PCB layout for DFMA and prototypes.
• Plan and run functional verification; track and resolve issues.
• Coordinate electromechanical integration with mechanical engineers.
• Own harness design for EMI, serviceability and reliability.
• Manage PCB supply chain, alternatives, cost/lead time, and EOL risk.
• Sustain released hardware until end-of-life.
• Lead root-cause analysis to eliminate field issues with service team.
