Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Louisville, KY to design electrical systems for data centers and commercial facilities. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate schedules, and ensure code compliance with regulators while driving project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
• Professional engineering license recognized in the location of the position offered.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
• Commitment to being an active participant of the employee‑owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s development.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings regarding electrical systems.
• Act as electrical lead on multiple projects and participate in code compliance reviews with governing agencies.
• Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager and others.
• Coordinate workload through the development schedule to complete documents on schedule.
• Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work to stay within schedule.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management.
• Direct other electrical engineering professionals and mentor staff.
