Job summary

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design critical infrastructure for data centers and commercial facilities in Louisville, KY. You will lead electrical design efforts, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with codes and project timelines.

This role supports sustainable, human-centric facilities and guides staff through complex engineering tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering (Electrical emphasis).
• Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience for buildings (lighting, power, systems).
• Professional engineer license recognized in the location of the position offered.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s development.
• Establish client relations and participate in meetings regarding electrical systems.
• Act as electrical lead on projects and participate in code compliance reviews with authorities.
• Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document sessions with the PM, architect, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload through the development schedule to complete documents on time.
• Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to stay within schedule.
• Collaborate with PM and Regional Controller for project reviews with management as needed.
• Direct other electrical engineering professionals and mentor staff members.
• Perform other duties as needed.
