Insight Global in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a 4-5 person team. You will support products in production and contribute to R&D for new products, interacting with customers, internal teams and vendors to take projects from concept to production.

The role emphasizes leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across manufacturing and engineering disciplines in a defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• 3+ years supporting a defense product development company or OEM.
• Experience creating electrical schematics and drawings and following the product from concept to production.
• Experience working with production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers and designers.
• SolidWorks Electrical experience.
• AutoCAD.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Eligible for US Security clearance (not required but could be in the future).
• Experience with ASTM E1851-15, IEEE 299, MIL-STD-285, MIL-STD-188/125, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464.
• Hands on experience with lab tools: Oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
• Master’s degree or PE License.
• SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead cradle-to-grave support of IRAD and prototyping efforts from concept to production.
• Collaborate with customers, internal engineering teams and external vendors.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers in a team-centered environment.
• Coordinate with production teams during manufacturing.
• Support ongoing and new product development in both production and R&D contexts.
