Textron Systems is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer in Maryland to develop and test autonomous surface vehicles and subsystems. You will design, analyze, integrate and field-test electrical architectures for unmanned platforms, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions that enhance mission capabilities.

The role offers opportunities to mentor, influence proposals, and work on diverse programs supporting national security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, or a related field with 9 years of experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including preparation of design documentation.
• Effective presentation skills.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).
• Design and integration experience in military/commercial vehicle systems, control systems, power distribution and conversion, safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications systems on vehicles.
• Perform analysis, integration, and testing.
• Contribute to concept development as part of internal cross-functional design teams, including prototyping and production support.
• Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, and design presentations to customers.
• Support proposal activity, providing input to cost estimates and risk assessments.
• May lead a design team.
• Will produce technical white papers and brief management/customers on planning and progress.
• Prepare and/or manage design change documentation via Engineering Change Notices/Engineering Change Proposals.
