Job summary

Allied Resources in Medford, MA is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to manage and execute electrical design for industrial and commercial projects, providing technical leadership through planning, design, construction documentation, and field support.

You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, ensure code compliance and on-budget delivery, and mentor engineers to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering and design experience in consulting, industrial, or construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage/special systems.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating with external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, IEEE, OSHA, UL, and related standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering and design efforts for small to large-scale projects across multiple industries.
  • Manage electrical discipline scope, schedules, staffing, and project budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Develop and review electrical construction documents including plans, specifications, one-line diagrams, load calculations, lighting layouts, and equipment schedules.
  • Perform and oversee engineering analyses such as power distribution studies, voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis, and lighting calculations.
  • Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, field observations, punch lists, and issue resolution.
  • Conduct field surveys and evaluate existing electrical systems for renovation and retrofit projects.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and designers across the project team.
  • Participate in proposal development, project planning, and client presentations.
  • Support quality assurance and technical review processes for project deliverables.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for project meetings, site visits, and client support.
