Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Electrical Engineer to lead aerospace-grade circuit card assemblies from concept to flight qualification.

The role emphasizes analog/digital hardware design, DO-254 compliance, and collaboration across global multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on high-reliability systems and supplier coordination.

You will mentor engineers, drive design verification, and interact with customers and Chief Engineers to ensure performance in harsh environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in digital/analog hardware electrical design.
• Significant lab experience testing and debugging complex electronic circuits.
• Aptitude for low-noise analog and sensor interface design and analysis, signal processing and conversion.
• Experience with microprocessors, FPGAs, DDR and flash memories, high-speed physical and wireless communication and interconnects.

• Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from conception to completion


• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components


• Design analog, high-speed processing, and digital electronic Circuit Card Assemblies for aerospace applications


• Support multiple complex Printed Board Assembly development assignments


• Support system trades and set and negotiate module requirements derived from system requirements


• Develop architectures and complete design, analysis, and testing in an engineering laboratory


• Collaborate with global, multidisciplinary PBA electrical design, systems, software, IC design, and mechanical engineering teams


• Interact with customers and Chief Engineers to ensure PBAs operate in harsh environments


• Support proposals and quotation efforts for analog/digital design work


• Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to team members


• Act as a technical leader and coach for other engineers


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics


• 8+ years of experience in digital/analog hardware electrical design


• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, practices, and standards


• Significant lab experience testing and debugging complex electronic circuits


• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools


• Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or person with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status


• Experience supporting PBA-level requirements development, preliminary and detailed design, design verification, and qualification across commercial, defense, and space products and systems


• Experience ensuring designs meet DO-254 standards for Avionics Hardware Development and Certification


• Aptitude for low-noise analog and sensor interface design and analysis, signal processing and conversion


• Experience with microprocessors, FPGAs, DDR and flash memories, high-speed physical and wireless communication and interconnects, and sensor and guidance electronics interfaces


• Proficiency with Mentor Graphics Xpedition Enterprise Design Flow, Mathcad, Timing Designer, MS Excel, and LTSpice


• Strong SPICE simulation experience, including parametric modification, validation, and Monte Carlo techniques


• Knowledge of project estimation, planning, cost management, and schedule management


• Ability to communicate complex messages clearly and concisely to varied audiences, verbally and in writing


• Ability to generate Printed Wiring Board layout constraint guidelines and oversee layout and fabrication
