Job summary

InPwr, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Indiana. The role focuses on overseeing installation, testing, and verification of electrical systems for data-center projects, ensuring design specifications are met before operation.

The candidate should bring strong on-site experience, safety training, and hands-on testing expertise. The position requires 3–5 years in data centers, NFPA 70E and OSHA 10 certifications, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in science of electrical engineering.
• 3-5 years of working experience in Data Center
• HV Substations, MV SWGR, LV SWGR, Busway, UPS, Generator, PDU, RPP, others
• NFPA 70E
• OSHA 10
• Complete all Safety Certifications
• Load soak plan.
• Script development for L2-L5
• Daily Reports
• Knowledge on CAD, Bluebeam, others.

Responsibilities

• Planning and Coordination of commissioning activities with project stakeholders.
• Verify electrical systems meet design specs; review drawings, inspections, and proper wiring/grounding.
• Perform functional testing on switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, panels, and devices.
• Conduct performance testing under normal and peak loads; assess voltage, current, power factor, insulation resistance.
• Perform protection and coordination testing to ensure device protection works correctly.
• Document all commissioning procedures, tests, results, and modifications for handover.
• Provide training to operations/maintenance on proper operation of systems.
• Ensure safety regulations and PPE requirements are followed during commissioning.
• Compile commissioning reports with issues, deficiencies, and recommended actions.
• Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles (BSEE) and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
