Job summary

ND Paper seeks an Electrical Engineer to support electrical and instrumentation functions across our Rumford, Biron, and other mills. The role emphasizes safety, project execution, and ongoing maintenance of plant systems.

You will troubleshoot equipment, contribute to capital projects, maintain drawings, and collaborate with maintenance and operations to minimize downtime. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and PLC knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with electrical experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment.
• Provide electrical/instrumentation engineering services for capital projects and service requests; prepare requests and drawings, and oversee projects to completion.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical/instrumentation problems with mill machinery and equipment.
• Investigate root cause failure analysis for electrical and instrumentation losses.
• Develop and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Conduct periodic rounds to identify electrical/instrumentation issues and ensure good housekeeping.
• Ensure cost-effective electrical/instrumentation activities.
• Support training of mill technicians for installation, startup, and maintenance.
• Update electrical and instrumentation drawings; AutoCAD knowledge is beneficial.
• Be familiar with Rockwell and Siemens drives and PLCs.
• Be available for emergency calls, weekends, and holidays.
• Communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
