Job summary

YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley is seeking a full-time Early Learning Center Instructor. The role focuses on the health, safety, and welfare of children, providing direct supervision, and leading literacy-based activities in a caring, structured setting.

You will guide age-appropriate experiences, observe development, and ensure a positive, secure environment. CPR/AED/FA certification is required or available through the YMCA, with a high school diploma or equivalent mandatory.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDA, Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• CPR/AED/FA certification required or obtainable through the Y.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to children in the classroom at all times.
• Promote literacy and early education through age-appropriate activities.
• Offer storytelling, games, and songs meeting YMCA and Creative Curriculum guidelines.
• Observe children and note progress and development.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all participants.
• Support field trips and daily program activities.
