YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley seeks a full-time ELC Instructor in Davenport, IA. The role involves supervising children, promoting literacy, and delivering age-appropriate activities in a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include leading classroom experiences, observing progress, and ensuring health and safety while adhering to YMCA policies and Creative Curriculum guidelines. CPR/AED/FA certification will be provided if needed, with full benefits for this hourly position.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• CDA, an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• CPR/AED/FA certification must be obtained (classes provided through the YMCA).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to children in your classroom at all times.
• Promote literacy and early education through age-appropriate activities.
• Facilitate experiences such as storytelling, games and songs that meet YMCA and Creative Curriculum guidelines.
• Observe children and document progress and development.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for children and staff.
