Job summary
Actalent leads in engineering and sciences services and is seeking a Lead EHSS Engineer to drive corporate social responsibility management systems on-site in Durham, NC. You will collaborate with owners, architects, and contractors to assess EHSS impacts on new projects and promote sustainable practices.
The role requires 8+ years in EHSS within pharma, life sciences, or chemical engineering, a BS in a related field, and professional certification.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in OHS, engineering, or environmental engineering is required.
- 8+ years of pharma/life sciences or chemical engineering EHSS experience.
- Certification as safety professional or industrial hygienist is preferred.
- Experience in FDA-regulated environments is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Oversee site water use, discharge control programs, and related reporting.
- Manage site waste, including hazardous waste handling and inspections.
- Complete chemical reporting and maintain SDS records.
- Develop engineering controls for hazards and safety protocols for contractors.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and drive EHSS continuous improvement.
