Job summary

Mercy Hospital in Durango, CO, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a Registered Echo Tech Lead to provide specialized cardiovascular care and lead the echocardiography team. You will perform and review diagnostic procedures, ensure patient safety, and uphold high standards of care across the echocardiography service.

The role requires RDCS or RCS credentials, BLS, and a minimum of two years in cardiac ultrasound, with leadership or mentoring experience preferred to guide staff and students.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Current BLS from American Heart Association
• Registered RDCS or RCS with CCI
• Two years of experience in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography)
• Graduate of a cardiovascular technology or echocardiography program (preferred)
• Leadership experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, support, and coordination to technical and support staff.
• Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physician.
• Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
• Responsible for orienting, training, and mentoring staff and students.
• Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient response by informing primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
• Problem solves immediate issues that may negatively impact patient care.
