Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Clinical Development Director to lead the early phase clinical development of compounds from first‑in‑human studies through proof‑of‑concept. You will collaborate on trial design, protocol development, data review, and regulatory submissions, working with colleagues across Precision Medicine, Research and Safety to advance programs in inflammation, general medicine or rare disease.

Qualifications

• MD/DO required with Board certification or eligibility.
• Minimum 2 years in industry or academia in development.
• Experience leading early-phase clinical development programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead early phase clinical development from first‑in‑human to proof‑of‑concept.
• Collaborate on design and delivery of early phase trials.
• Support protocol, IND development, study start up, data review and analysis.
• Contribute to development plans, study protocols, informed consents, IBCs, and ethics submissions.
• Evaluate safety, efficacy, pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic data.
• Collaborate with internal functions and external partners.
• Evaluate external licensing or partnering opportunities.
• Provide biomedical guidance to Early Development teams.
