Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Head Teacher for a Universal Pre-K or Universal 3K classroom at the Flushing YMCA in Queens. You will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth, and supervise staff within the Early Childhood Learning Center.

Responsibilities include student assessments, family engagement, and maintaining program documentation while ensuring compliance with DOH/DOE guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Early Childhood education; NY licensed/certified as required by NYSED.
• Three years of early childhood group experience.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities in diverse settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for Pre-K/3K.
• Supervise and coach Assistant Teachers and Specialists.
• Engage parents/guardians with regular communication and involvement.
• Ensure health, safety, and compliant program documentation.
