Job summary

KinderCare in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced early childhood teacher to lead and mentor a classroom, delivering our curriculum while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.

You will partner with families to support children's development, collaborate with center staff on enrollment and engagement, and help drive center success. Preferred: CDA credential and 2–3 years of ECE experience; CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years Early Childhood Education experience (preferred).
• Active CDA Credential or meet NAEYC candidacy requirements (preferred).
• Approved state trainer (preferred).
• Meet state qualifications for the role or willingness to obtain.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Read, write, understand and speak English to communicate with children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor teachers in your classroom; model behaviors and provide feedback.
• Implement KinderCare's curriculum in a way that respects each child's needs.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
• Partner and connect with parents to support children's development.
• Support center success; collaborate with staff and leadership on enrollment and engagement.
• Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate partners.
• Provide outstanding customer service, stay organized and multi-task effectively.
• Possess active CDA Credential or meet NAEYC candidacy requirements; willing to obtain CPR/First Aid.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)

CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
