Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a dedicated early childhood education professional to supervise the Dean Rusk Early Learning Center classroom team and oversee day-to-day operations. You will plan engaging literacy- and math-rich activities, support child development, and involve families in Head Start initiatives to foster a nurturing learning environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to pass

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, including criminal record check, drug screening, MVR and references

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and develop classroom associates and manage day-to-day operations.
  • Plan and implement learning experiences to advance intellectual and physical development.
  • Improve readiness for school by developing literacy, phonemic, and print awareness.
  • Enhance language development and vocabulary; foster appreciation of books.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
  • Support social and emotional development and engage families in Head Start programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and program regulations; document assessments and conferences.
