Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is hiring an Early Head Start Teacher for the Greene County Early Learning Center. You will co-teach and provide a safe, developmentally appropriate program for children six weeks to three years old, with a focus on literacy and STEAM-infused learning.

Responsibilities include supervising classroom staff, coordinating with families, ensuring compliance, and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons. Strong communication and document management are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• PDS documentation and transcripts required.
• Physical ability to kneel, bend, squat, lift and carry objects or children up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop classroom associates and manage day-to-day classroom operations.
• Plan and implement learning experiences to advance intellectual and physical development.
• Engage families and support relationships between children and families.
• Follow developmentally appropriate practices and meet regulatory compliance and assessments.
• Conduct observations and home visits as required by program guidelines.
• Maintain attendance, meal counts, and timely reporting.
