Job summary

KinderCare in Charlottesville, VA seeks a dedicated lead teacher to mentor peers, implement our curriculum, and create a safe, nurturing space where children can play and learn. You will partner with parents to support each child’s growth and work with center leadership to drive enrollment and engagement.

Requirements include a CDA or NAEYC candidacy, 2–3 years of ECE experience, and a Bachelor’s in ECE preferred. CPR/First Aid and ability to lift 40 pounds are expected.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service skills and strong organizational abilities.
• Active CDA credential or eligibility for NAEYC candidacy.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
• 2–3 years Early Childhood Education experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Meet state-specific qualifications or willingness to obtain.
• Read, write, and speak English to communicate with children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor teachers; model behaviors and provide feedback.
• Implement KinderCare curriculum suited to each child's needs.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment for play and learning.
• Partner with parents to support child development.
• Support center goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with families, teachers, licensing authorities, and partners.
