Lead Dynamics Developer role at Virginia State Corporation Commission

Overview

The State Corporation Commission (SCC) seeks two Lead Dynamics Developers to join its Information Technology Division (ITD). The Lead Dynamics Developer will design, configure, customize, and support Microsoft Dynamics solutions, including Dynamics 365 and related Power Platform components. The role serves as the technical and functional expert for Dynamics, providing guidance on best practices, integrations, and optimization strategies. Selected candidates will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and IT leadership to ensure the platform aligns with organizational goals and delivers maximum value.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and customization of Dynamics 365 solutions to meet business requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Dynamics 365 support, troubleshoot, and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain business process flows, workflows, and Power Automate integration.
• Design and build Power Apps solutions that complement Dynamics 365 and streamline business processes.
• Leverage Power BI to create dashboards and analytics that enhance decision making.
• Work with business analysts to gather and refine requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
• Create and manage custom entities, forms, views, and relationships.
• Implement security roles, field‑level security, and data access control.
• Conduct system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and end‑user training.
• Optimize performance, data management, and system stability.
• Integrate Dynamics 365 with other business systems, including SharePoint, Power BI, and external APIs.
• Stay current on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform updates, features, and emerging best practices.
• Perform related work as required.

Qualifications

• 4 or more years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM / Dynamics 365.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse) is essential.
• Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 modules, including Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Field Service, and Power Platform capabilities.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 customization, configuration, and administration.
• Experience in C#, .NET, and web services.
• Knowledge of relational databases, data models, and data integration.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to create and maintain baseline configurations and roadmaps.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; significant experience acceptable.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications (e.g., Dynamics 365 Fundamentals, Dynamics 365 Sales Functional Consultant) preferred.
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., Power Platform Fundamentals, Power Platform Functional Consultant) preferred.
• Familiarity with Azure services and cloud architecture.
• Understanding of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
• Project management or business analysis experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
