Job summary

Typical Life Corporation is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to provide direct care and administrative support in a residential setting. The role acts as a peer partner to DSPs, coordinating scheduling, household tasks, and communication with the Residential Manager.

Starting wage is $20/hour with step increases for NADSP certifications; on-call scheduling stipend and cell phone reimbursement are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18+ years old.
• DSP experience preferred.
• Must be able to achieve NADSP certification within one year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license for at least two years.
• Must pass Physical and TB.
• Must lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and oversight as a peer mentor to DSPs.
• Train and onboard new DSPs; update protocols and care plans.
• Create and update staff schedules biweekly; provide on-call coverage.
• Support medication check-in and weekly audits; coordinate provider appointments.
• Manage household logistics: cleanliness, groceries, and maintenance requests.
• Coordinate monthly fire drills and vehicle mileage logs.
• Manage calendars and appointments for individuals; ensure person-centered planning.
