Job summary

Yahoo DSP Research invites a Principal Research Scientist to lead the next generation budget control, pacing, and bidding algorithms. You will guide architectural evolution of a high-scale optimization stack and integrate agentic AI practices into automated research-to-production loops.

You will mentor senior scientists, set technical standards, and communicate results to executives while partnering with engineering and product teams to scale algorithms globally.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field and strong mathematical foundation.
• 8+ years in large-scale optimization, control systems, or ML in production.
• Hands-on production programming with low-latency/distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, design, and deploy large-scale optimization algorithms for bidding and budgeting.
• Architect AI workflows and automated experiment orchestration.
• Define strategy and long-term vision for DSP optimization.
• Apply control theory and ML to real-time marketplace dynamics.
• Drive AI-assisted refactoring, testing, and research synthesis.
