Job summary

Northwest Center’s Big Blue Truck division seeks a Lead Driver to manage local pickups, oversee donation stations, and supervise bin services and warehouse tasks. You will mentor teammates and maintain a strong Safety Above All culture while delivering excellent customer service and community impact.

Responsibilities include driving box trucks, leading weekend operations, training staff on safety, and ensuring DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Driver's License.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Clean five year driving record.
• Understanding of DOT commercial vehicle standards.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

Job description

Northwest Center’s iconic Big Blue Truck division is looking for a Lead Driver to join our team! This is an active, hands-on position where you will complete local pick-ups, oversee donation stations, perform bin services and maintenance, and assist with warehouse operations. You will not only operate company vehicles but also grow your leadership skills to mentor and support team members, ensuring the successful completion of daily tasks and long-term goals. As a Lead Driver, you will help reinforce BBT’s "Safety Above All" culture, collaborate with management to optimize operations and provide excellent customer service by sharing information about Northwest Center’s mission and the impact of community donations. Location: SeaTac, WA Schedule: Full-time; Monday & Friday 7 AM - 3:30 PM Saturday & Sunday 6 AM - 6:30 PM Wage Range: $23.50 - $27.07

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Warehouse Operations

• Safely operate box trucks for donation pick-ups, bin servicing, and store deliveries
• Perform warehouse tasks, including loading, unloading, and organizing donations
• Train staff on truck operations, DOT compliance, and routing tools

Leadership & Team Support

• Guide and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative team environment
• Assist with inventory tracking, reporting, and compliance documentation
• Support weekend operations and elevate issues to management as needed

Safety & Customer Service

• Enforce OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards
• Conduct facility and equipment safety checks
• Provide excellent customer service, ensuring proper donation handling and issue resolution

Requirements

• Valid Washington State Driver's License
• One (1) year of customer service experience
• Clean five (5) year driving record
• Understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) commercial vehicle standards
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
• Ability to lift goods weighing 50lbs consistently, and on occasion up to 70lbs
