Job summary

Fortune 100 oil and gas company seeks a Drilling Consultant / Drill Site Representative to lead land-based drilling operations in unconventional shale environments. You will direct drilling contractor personnel, manage logistics and costs, and ensure accurate reporting in WellView.

Emphasizes safety, well integrity, and continuous improvement. Roles require 10+ years of oil and gas drilling experience, proven leadership, and a valid Well Control Certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 10+ years of oil and gas drilling experience, including supervising unconventional drilling operations.
• Proven leadership of diverse field teams with a strong safety and performance culture.
• Demonstrated procedural discipline, risk management, and Stop Work Authority leadership.
• Valid Well Control Certification.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise drilling site teams safely and environmentally responsibly.
• Ensure work is planned, risk-assessed, and executed per procedures, standards, and permits.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority to intervene on safety or integrity risks.
• Direct rig contractors and service providers to perform work safely and efficiently.
• Manage drilling operations and wellsite logistics for personnel, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor costs and performance; implement corrective actions to minimize non-productive time.
• Maintain accurate reporting in WellView and other company systems.
• Use WellView, Corva, Polarion, and other tools to monitor and optimize performance.
• Ensure readiness through POAs, checklists, and verification activities.
• Meet WellSafe requirements for well control and barrier integrity.
• Collaborate with drilling, completions, subsurface, HSE, logistics, and facilities teams.
• Drive continuous improvement through reviews and lessons learned.
