GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a Drainage Engineer with an active Florida PE to join our transportation and infrastructure team in Florida. You will contribute to planning, analysis, design, and delivery of drainage and stormwater projects statewide.

Ideally, you bring 8+ years of experience, FDOT familiarity, and mentoring skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and deliver sustainable drainage solutions that meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Active Florida PE license or reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe.
• 5+ years of drainage engineering experience in transportation, municipal, or civil infrastructure.
• Experience with FDOT Drainage Manual and FDOT Design Manual (FDM).
• Proficiency with ICPR, HEC-RAS, HY-8, GeoHECRAS, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsabilités

• Lead and perform drainage engineering analyses and design for transportation, municipal, and land development projects.
• Prepare drainage reports, calculations, plans, specs, and supporting documentation.
• Design stormwater management systems, culverts, retention/detention facilities, conveyance systems, and roadway drainage infrastructure.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software.
• Coordinate with project managers, roadway engineers, environmental specialists, and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare permit applications and support agency coordination with: Florida DOT, SJRWMD, SFWMD, and local agencies.
• Ensure project deliverables comply with FDOT standards and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineering staff.
• Participate in client meetings, project presentations, and business development activities.
• Support project budgeting, scheduling, and quality control efforts.
