Job summary

South College Asheville is seeking a DMS Clinical Coordinator- Instructor for the Abdomen & OBGYN program. The role integrates clinical education with didactic instruction and serves as a full-time faculty member with teaching and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities include coordinating and evaluating the clinical component, acting as a liaison with clinical agencies, advising students, maintaining clinical records and grades, and developing rotations and schedules in collaboration

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Possess ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• RVT credential preferred.
• Must have minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, evaluate, and supervise the program’s clinical component.
• Act as a liaison between the clinical agencies and the college maintaining open lines of communication with the Program Director.
• Provide student counseling and advising, as required.
• Maintain all student clinical records including calculation of quarterly grades.
• Maintain and encourage valid evaluation of each student by clinical instructor, department managers, staff sonographers, and students.
• Develop clinical rotational assignments, lesson plans, and schedules.
• Evaluate student performance during clinical visits.
• Review and revise performance objectives to assure valid clinical learning experiences.
• Review the Clinical Manual and additional Policy Handbooks annually and make recommendations to Program Director.
• Initiate clinical instructor evaluation by students each quarter.
• Coordinate clinical and didactic courses within the program as assigned
