Job summary

Phillips Academy is seeking a Dive Coach for the aquatics program, working under the Aquatics Director from October through May 2027. The role focuses on teaching proper dive techniques, building diver confidence, and growing participation from beginner to competitive levels, with evening and weekend sessions.

The coach will lead practices, ensure safety protocols, and collaborate with staff to grow a structured learn-to-dive pathway feeding into a competitive team.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Lead all diving lessons, practices, and dryland training sessions.
• Ensure proper use of diving boards, pool rules, and dryland drills.
• Enforce safety protocols with active supervision and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, safe, and fun environment while promoting skill development and a love for diving.
• Plan and lead diving practices for diverse ages and skill levels with emphasis on fundamentals and safety.
• Teach proper diving techniques and provide feedback and performance analysis.
• Lead all diving lessons, practices, and dryland training sessions.
• Maintain and oversee diving equipment for safety and proper working condition.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and aquatics staff.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintain accurate records and program data.
• Provide advance notice if unable to work scheduled shifts and arrange coverage.
